How do I change my Remote Desktop password?

  1. Press and hold the Ctrl and Alt keys and then tap the End key.

  2. Use the mouse or your down arrow key to choose Change a password.

  3. Type your existing password in the Old password box, your new password in the New password box and then retype your new password in the Confirm password box.
  4. Click the Arrow or press the Enter key to have the password change accepted.

Notes: Your organisation may have password policies in force that dictate the complexity and minimum number of characters permitted when setting passwords. Passwords are considered the first line of protection against any unauthorised access. The stronger the password the greater the level of protection.

  • A strong password must be at least 8 characters long
  • A password should not contain any personal information such as your name, date of birth, user name etc.
  • A password must be unique from a previously used password
  • A password should not contain any word spelled completely
  • A password should contain a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters
